Ever since I was young my family had attended church every Sunday and I would join this because I thought that’s all you were supposed to do. When I turned 13 my family stopped going to church completely due to a divorce and many deaths in the family. I decided at the age of 17 that I would go to church with a very good friend of mine; Very nervous at first I got into youth group every Sunday. I then started going to morning services and was really enjoying life. I got an invitation to attend CIY in Milligan Tennessee. I took the offer and off we went. When we arrived I was in awe of how may people there were and how you could feel Gods presence. The week was coming to an end when a sermon cut me right to the heart and I just broke down in tears and told my youth minister that I needed to get baptized. Its what I really wanted in my life I just didn’t know how to get there until God showed me that night.
Within my church I attended CIY when I was in high school. I was in the youth group and was there to help my friends with the problems they were having in life. I volunteered at Camp Allendale and VBS to help out with younger children and help mold there lives in a loving Christ way.
By going to Johnson I hope to achieve many things, I want to become knowledgeable in the bible and with biblical history. This will help me to teach people the stories of the bible and where they originated and from whom. I want to become a stronger Christian through prayer and studying of his word and by fellowship with my fellow students. I want to help kids in high school through the rough spots in life. Help them see God in a whole new light, Show them how amazing God is and will always be there for them. Finally I want to lead complete stranger I have never met in my life to Christ on mission trips or through letters. I want to spread God all over this world and show his grace to all who will accept it.
